Audit the Legislature

“I will support the state auditor in completing a full audit.” “72% of voters support the audit.”

Receipts
  • Recorded vote on compromise bills: Fernandes recorded Nay, Senate roll call 6, Feb. 12, 2025 (9 to 29). The amendment, filed by Sen. John Keenan, a Democrat: “all conference committee reports shall require a call for yeas and nays” (S.15, amendment 22).
  • 48 hours: Fernandes recorded Nay, Senate roll call 4, Feb. 12, 2025 (5 to 33). The amendment would have held a compromise bill “until a minimum of 48 hours have passed since the filing of the report” (S.15, amendment 10). The rule it would have replaced holds a bill “until the 2nd calendar day following the day on which said report was filed”.
  • Both votes are also reported in Beacon Hill Roll Call, The Enterprise, Feb. 21, 2025.
  • These were votes on the proposed joint House-Senate rules for 2025-2026 (S.15). They were not votes on the auditor’s audit of the Legislature, and we found no statement from Fernandes on that audit.
